Affordable Care Act Impact on Medicaid Coverage of Smoking-Cessation Treatments

The Affordable Care Act was successful in improving and expanding state Medicaid coverage of effective smoking-cessation treatments. Many programs are not fully compliant with the law, and additional guidance and clarification from the Centers for Medicare and Medicaid Services may be needed.
