Small bowel volvulus in pregnancy with associated superior mesenteric artery occlusion

Fewer than 25 cases of midgut volvulus during pregnancy have been reported over the past 20 years. To our knowledge, this is the first report of maternal midgut volvulus in which imaging captures the resultant occlusion of the SMA.
