Taken together, bovine eotaxin attracts eosinophils in vitro but is not responsible for eosinophilia in the ovary. Its unusual chimeric structure confirms the unity of the MCP/eotaxin subfamily of CC chemokines and distinguishes it from other CC chemokine subfamilies.
