A multicenter, randomized, double-blind, retrospective comparison of 5- and 10-day regimens of levofloxacin in a subgroup of patients aged ≥65 years with community-acquired pneumonia

This subgroup analysis found that levofloxacin 750 mg/d for 5 days was well tolerated in the treatment of CAP in elderly patients. Undajusted and adjusted rates of clinical success were statistically similar between levofloxacin 750 mg/d for 5 days and levofloxacin 500 mg/d for 10 days.
