Medical care and lost work day costs in musculoskeletal disorders: Older versus younger workers

Occupational and non-occupational medical care and wage compensation costs for musculoskeletal disorders among older and younger workers are described. We found no significant difference in medical care costs between the groups but older workers incurred significantly more lost work days and wage replacement payments.
