Is women's emancipation still compatible with reproduction in this century?
چکیده انگلیسی
For millions of years reproduction was the inevitable consequence of sexuality. By the introduction of effective methods of contraception, it suddenly became possible to separate sexuality from reproduction. It provided the stepping stone for emancipation of women, and society fundamentally changed thereafter. The emancipation policies in most European countries originate from a time that the differences between men and women were considered to be mainly the result of environment and upbringing. The corresponding gender concept assumed that men and women are economically and socially the same and can equally well carry out paid employment, housework and childcare-activities. This view does not take into account that men and women are different in many respects. If we are not going to accept these innate differences, the present form of reproduction will no longer be compatible with the achieved benefits of emancipation.
