Nursing effectiveness: An evaluation of patient satisfaction with a nurse led orthopaedic joint replacement review clinic

This study explores the important issues as experienced by the patient attending the nurse led clinic to determine their acceptance with nurse led care. Patient expectations of the clinic were explored using the Leeds Satisfaction Questionnaire [Hill, J., Bird, H.A., Hopkins, R., Lawton, C., Wright, V., 1992. Survey of satisfaction with care in a rheumatology out patient clinic. Annals of the Rheumatic Disease 51, 195-197.]. This was distributed to a sample of 50 patients and from this five semi-structured interviews were conducted. Thematic analysis was undertaken and revealed several issues relating to experience and satisfaction with the nurse led service. No significant difference was found between age and gender in this study and overall patient satisfaction with the nurse led clinic was demonstrated.
