Engaging in shared decision making: Leveraging staff and management expertise

Staff satisfaction survey results consistently indicate a desire for more involvement in decision making. Creating an appealing organizational culture depends on executives' and managers' ability to create an engaging work environment where leadership is shared. This responsibility includes managing the polarity of directive and participative decisions and advancing shared decision making (SDM) as a key element of the culture.
