The environmental culture of practice

I am amazed how practice patterns vary across the spectrum of our case management profession. Many factors contribute to our varied perspectives. Ever deal with someone in a different time zone? You've been up and rolling for hours and may be on your third cup of coffee; they're just getting started and may have just had their first cup. Oh, can this interaction be painful! Different time zones may mean translating different accents, dialects, or languages. Perhaps it means dealing with speech speed, too, like the adjustment I made as a New Yorker when I moved to Virginia and was quickly reminded that I was living in the South.
