Selective arterial calcium stimulation is the most sensitive preoperative test but, due to its complexity, it should be reserved for difficult cases. Because of its high sensitivity and low cost, intraoperative ultrasonography is a very useful intraoperative technique to evaluate localization and/or extension of the insulinoma.
