Adenovirus-mediated overexpression of the activin βc subunit accelerates liver regeneration in partially hepatectomized rats

These results indicate that liver regeneration is accelerated in βC-overexpressing liver. The βC subunit may function to promote replication of hepatocytes during liver regeneration.
