Bariatric surgery in patients older than 65 years is safe and effective

Bariatric surgery can be performed with acceptable safety, excellent weight loss, resolution of comorbidities, and significant improvement in quality of life in patients older than 65 years. The GBP seems to be as safe as, and more effective than, the LAGB in this age group.
