Spiritist Healing Centers in Brazil

This article describes the origin and workings of Spiritist Healing Centers in Brazil. Given the reported success in healing mental, emotional, and physical disease, the author suggests further research into the healing practices, philosophy, and education offered at these centers. The general dynamics of Spiritist healing is described. Issues that have limited research in the past are put forth along with a historical perspective on spiritual healing, evidencing that strides are currently being made by researchers validating the effectiveness of specific spiritual approaches to complement conventional medical procedures.
