Population-based incidence rates of malignant melanoma of the vulva in Germany

The risk of vulvar melanoma was considerably lower in East Germany than in the United States and Sweden. Due to the rarity of vulvar melanoma, population-based cancer registries are hampered to study this tumor in detail.
