No statistically significant differences were found in the prevalence of M. genitalium between the infertile and the fertile groups. IgG for M. fermentans and M. penetrans were significantly higher in the infertile group than in the fertile group, suggesting that these microorganisms could be the cause of, or risk factors for, pelvic inflammatory disease and female infertility.
