Pain induced by phacoemulsification without sedation using topical or peribulbar anesthesia

In patients having phacoemulsification without sedation, those receiving peribulbar anesthesia reported more pain than those receiving topical anesthesia during anesthetic solution infiltration and during the procedure, respectively.
