A multicriteria-contingent valuation analysis concerning a coastal area of Sardinia, Italy

This paper evaluates the desirability of three planning scenarios concerning the reorganization of public services and infrastructure for outdoor recreation in the coastal zone of the town of Arbus (Sardinia, Italy) using both the contingent valuation (CV) method and multicriteria analysis (MCA). The most relevant methodological point of this paper is to demonstrate how the results of the CV procedure can be used in the MCA procedure to improve the accuracy and objectivity of the MCA results.
