Pyroelectric properties of tricyclohexylmethanol (TCHM) single crystal

The pyroelectric effect is measured in tricycloheylmethanolmethanol (TCHM) crystal around the second-order phase transition at 104 K. The presented results confirm that the spontaneous polarization exists in the low temperature phase of TCHM and is reversible in external electric field. It is suggested that TCHM is an improper ferroelectric below 104 K.
