Characteristics of a Zn-Ni electrodeposited alloy obtained from controlled electrolyte flux with gelatin

A variety of additives are usually added to bath depositions to improve the efficiency of the deposition and the characteristics of the deposit. A Zn-Ni electrodeposited alloy was evaluated considering a duct-shape electrochemical cell with controlled electrolyte flow and the presence of gelatin as an additive was considered. The Ni content depends on gelatin concentration and if the flux is a laminar or turbulent one. Increased amount of gelatin and flow rate reduced the grain size of deposit.
