Magnetic phase transition in Laves phase DyCo2 probed by XRD and XMCD under high pressure

Pressure effects of the magnetic phase transition in DyCo2 were studied by XRD and XMCD. The magnetic transition changes from 1st order to 2nd order in a range of 4-5 GPa. The Co K-edge XMCD is insensitive to the pressure, which is interpreted as resulting mainly from the pressure variation of Dy 4f magnetic polarization.
