Alcohol Abuse Predicts Progression of Disease and Death in Patients with Lung Cancer

Alcohol-abusing patients with nonsmall-cell lung cancer have worse outcomes than nonabusing patients. The adverse prognosis associated with alcohol abuse is independent of comorbidity, performance status, or smoking history.
