Trigonelline inhibits caspase 3 to protect β cells apoptosis in streptozotocin-induced type 1 diabetic mice

Trigonelline has beneficial effect for type 1 diabetic mice through decreasing blood glucose, increasing insulin expression in β cells, regulating inflammatory response, suppressing β cells apoptosis partly by downregulating expression of caspase 3, upregulating antioxidant enzyme activity.703
