The authors present a broad basis of the problems of aortic coarctation in neonates and infants. The special attention was paid on the latest views concerning the diagnosis and management of this heart defect. The early and late complications of the treatment of aortic coarctation were analyzed and contemporary theories of the recurrent aortic coarctation and post surgery arterial hypertension were discussed.
