Enzymatic deinking of various types of waste paper: Efficiency and characteristics

► Comparison of enzymatic deinking of various types of waste papers have been performed. ► Highest deinking efficiency was obtained by laser-printed paper but the lowest was obtained by newspaper. ► The result indicated enzymatic deinking improve pulp drainage rate for all waste papers used. ► Enzyme hydrolysis can improve as well as detrimental to the mechanical properties of deinked paper.
