Purification and comparative characterization of monophenolase and diphenolase activities from a wild edible mushroom (Macrolepiota gracilenta)

► Macrolepiota gracilenta has monophenolase and diphenolase activity. ► This mushroom was investigated for the first time as source of enzyme. ► Purified enzyme had greatest substrate specificity to PHPPA and DHPPA. ► Thermal stability of the enzyme was examined during 5 days. ► Mono- and diphenolase activities were stable at low temperature up to 5 days.
