Recombinant Fab expression and secretion in Escherichia coli continuous culture at medium cell densities: Influence of temperature

► Fab produced in Escherichia coli medium cell densities chemostats at 37, 33 and 30 °C. ► Product yield increased as temperature decreased within working range. ► Biologically active 3H6 Fab produced at the three temperatures. ► 30% of total Fab secreted to periplasm, irrespective of process temperature. ► Considerable product leakage to the culture supernatant detected in all cases.
