Purification and characterization of an azoreductase from Escherichia coli CD-2 possessing quinone reductase activity

► We purify an enzyme from E. coli which have both azoreductase and quinone reductase activity. ► The enzyme is stable over wide ranges of pH and temperature. ► The purified enzyme is efficient enough to degrade methyl red in a short time.
