Psychrophilic α-amylase from Aeromonas veronii NS07 isolated from farm soils

► Isolation of a novel psychrophilic α-amylase producing bacterium, Aeromonas veronii NS07. ► The enzyme is being resistant to low temperatures, detergents, chelators and surfactants. ► Analysis of the N-terminal amino acid sequence indicating that the enzyme was novel. ► Cold active enzyme seems to be suitable as biocatalyst for practical use in detergent industries.
