A high throughput method to screen companion bacterium for 2-keto-l-gulonic acid biosynthesis by co-culturing Ketogulonicigenium vulgare

► Screen method based on 24-well MTP was developed for co-culture process. ► Pigment released by K. vulgare was closely associated with 2-KLG biosynthesis. ► Mutant co-culture process can be correctly grouped by K-mean cluster analysis. ► The method is powerful to screen target strain for co-culture from large library.
