Investigation of the cyanosilylation catalysed by metal-siliceous catalysts

►TMSCN reacts with the silanol groups of the catalyst deactivating it. ►Na is not essential in the catalytic cyanosilylation of acetophenone. ►Ordered catalysts such as MCM-41 perform much better in this reaction than amorphous TUD-1. ►The cyanosilylation is not diffusion limited.
