Preparation and CO2 adsorption of amine modified Mg-Al LDH via exfoliation route

► Amine modified layered double hydroxides were prepared via exfoliation and grafting route. ► CO2 adsorption was studied at 25-80 °C and 1 bar CO2 pressure. ► Highest CO2 adsorption capacity of 1.75 mmol g−1 was achieved at 80 °C. ► The Avrami model provided a good fit to the CO2 adsorption isotherms.
