Finding a suitable thermodynamic model and phase equilibria for hydrodeoxygenation reactions of methyl heptanoate

► Vapor-liquid equilibrium for the methyl heptanoate + m-xylene system was measured. ► VLE results were correlated with thermodynamic models of which PSRK was preferred. ► Phase equilibria for hydrodeoxygenation of methyl heptanoate was improved with PSRK.
