Incorporation of catalytic dehydrogenation into Fischer-Tropsch synthesis of liquid fuels from coal to minimize carbon dioxide emissions

► Catalytic dehydrogenation (CDH) of gases from Fischer - Tropsch synthesis (FTS). ► Recycle H2 from CDH to increase H2/CO ratio of coal-derived syngas to ⩾ 2. ► Recover C carbon from CDH as multi-walled carbon nanotubes (MWCNT). ► For a 50,000 bbl/day FTS-CDH plant, 13,000 tons/day of CO2 emissions are avoided.
