Investigating self healing behaviour of pure bitumen using Dynamic Shear Rheometer

► Healing process was simulated by pressing two pieces of bitumen together using DSR. ► Two phases can be observed: Initial healing and Time dependent healing. ► Initial healing shows a three-stage complex modulus increase due to gap closure. ► Compressive normal force promotes the development of time dependent healing.
