► Co-gasification of MBM with coal was studied in a fluidised bed reactor. ► The influence of temperature, equivalence ratio and % of MBM was studied. ► The gas and tar composition obtained was analysed. ► The tar and char higher heating values were not significantly affected. ► This is an environmentally friendly use for meat and bone meal waste.
