Comparison of particle emissions from an engine operating on biodiesel and petroleum diesel

► We compared PM emissions from an engine burning biodiesel and petroleum diesel. ► PM2.5 mass emission decreased with biodiesel application at high engine load. ► Biodiesel combustion increased OC emissions and decreased EC emissions. ► Finest particles were found with biodiesel from waste oil among all tested fuels.
