Induction of naming after observing visual stimuli and their names in children with autism

- We explored if children with autism can learn to name pictures and select them after observing an adult name the pictures, and if we could teach them this skill.
- An adult presented objects and names, without reinforcing any specific behavior, and probed tacts and selections. The procedure was repeated with three stimulus sets.
- All children with autism learned to name and to select.
- Two children required fewer trials to criterion as novel sets were presented.
