On mispronunciation analysis of individual foreign speakers using auditory periphery models

► We propose a general method for automatic diagnostic assessment of the L2 pronunciation. ► The method exploits psychoacoustic knowledge; two different auditory models used. ► We measure the Euclidean geometry similarity between L1 auditory domain and L2 acoustic domain. ► The system is applied to individual non-native speakers from various language backgrounds. ► Results are in accordance with theoretical linguistic findings.
