Microwave-assisted carbofuran degradation in the presence of GAC, ZVI and H2O2: Influence of reaction temperature and pH

▶ Complete carbofuran degradation in the MW-assisted systems at 80 °C and pH 6. ▶ Carbofuran degradation rate accelerates under alkaline pHs, i.e. pH 8 and 10. ▶ First-order kinetics used for modeling carbofuran removal in the MW-assisted system. ▶ Poor carbofuran removal in the presence of only MW, only CH and only MW absorbents. ▶ MW-assisted system helps removing carbofuran via removal of carbamate group.
