Characterization of heat treated eastern redcedar (Juniperus virginiana L.)

► Dimensional stability of eastern redcedar can be improved by heat treatment process. ► The enhanced physical properties of heat treated eastern redcedar need to be balanced against reduction in shear strength values. ► Reduction in shear strength of the samples could be compensated by other alternative heat treatment techniques.
