Nanocapsule assemblies as effective enzyme delivery systems against hyperuricemia

Nanocapsule assemblies are firstly fabricated as effective enzyme uricase delivery systems (UNAs) against hyperuricemia. The UNAs are assembled with many individual nanocaspsules. They showed catalytic activity, stability, pharmacokinetics and pharmacodynamics that were superior to those of free UC. Moreover, UNAs were able to decrease immunogenicity. The low hemolysis rate and no vascular stimulation of the UNAs were observed in rabbits. The superior properties of UNA might be ascribed to the favorable conformational changes of uricase. This can be employed as a model for other therapeutic enzyme delivery.409
