A nanomedicine based combination therapy based on QLPVM peptide functionalized liposomal tamoxifen and doxorubicin against Luminal A breast cancer

Endocrinotherapy agent tamoxifen and chemotherapy agent doxorubicin were separately encapsulated in QLPVM-modified liposomes for combinational treatment against Luminal A breast cancer. Functionalization of nanocarriers provided improved accumulation in tumor sites, and combinational administration of two drugs enhanced the therapeutic outcomes. The combinational therapy based on QLPVM functionalization exhibited the most tumor suppression. The nanomedicine based combination use of chemotherapy agent and endocrine therapy agent might provide a rational strategy to improve the curative effect of Luminal A breast cancer.134
