Targeted antitumor efficacy and imaging via multifunctional nano-carrier conjugated with anti-HER2 trastuzumab

Iron oxide nanoparticle and doxorubicin-loaded multifunctional nano-carrier (IONP/DOX-MFNC) with anti-HER2 trastuzumab showed the efficient and selective targeting for HER2 overexpressed SK-BR-3 human breast cancer cells in vitro and in vivo. The effect of active targeting by HER2 antibody conjugation resulted in the enhanced tumor diagnosis as well as the improved antitumor activity in SK-BR-3 tumor bearing mice.284
