Enhanced tumor delivery and antitumor activity in vivo of liposomal doxorubicin modified with MCF-7-specific phage fusion protein

Treatment with MCF-7-targeted phage-Doxil nanoparticles produced significant tumor remission accompanied by enhanced apoptosis and extensive necrosis as a result of improved tumor delivery of doxorubicin. Together with an absence of serious toxicity, these results suggest its potential as an active and tolerable chemotherapy for breast cancer therapy.86
