PAMAM dendrimer-azithromycin conjugate nanodevices for the treatment of Chlamydia trachomatis infections

Neutral polyamidoamine dendrimers are explored for the treatment of chlamydial inclusions, with implications in genital infections, and reactive arthritis. PAMAM dendrimers localize in chlamydial inclusions in infected cells, and deliver the antibiotic Azithromycin effectively, even against persistent inclusions.253
