Knowing your personality is knowing its nature: The role of information accuracy of peer assessments for heritability estimates of temperamental and personality traits

► I studied modifying effects of peer assessments' accuracy on heritability estimates. ► Peer and self-report data of personality from 1118 twin pairs were analyzed. ► Genetic variance in peer reports increased with accuracy of peer assessments. ► Genetic variance in self-report residuals decreased with peer reports' accuracy. ► Results indicate larger genetic effects on more accurately measured personality.
