Personality accounts for stable preferences and expectations across a range of simple games

► 67 subjects completed the NEO-PI-R and played dictator and other games over 2 weeks. ► Choices and expectations were correlated with personality and stable across time. ► Results suggest a one-dimensional measure of prosocial orientation. ► Prosocial orientation is predicted by openness(+), neuroticism(-) and extraversion(-).
