Risk factor profiles among intravenous drug using young adults: A latent class analysis (LCA) approach

► Using LCA, three classes of IDU young adults were identified in a sample of 274. ► Class 1 captured participants with the lowest risk across all indicators. ► Class 2 was socioeconomically disadvantaged with long episodes of homelessness. ► Class 3 had backgrounds of severe exposure to abuse/violence and family dysfunction. ► Identifying subgroups of IDU can inform the development of effective interventions.
