Attentional control affects the relationship between tonic immobility and intrusive memories

► Tonic immobility during the trauma film was related to larger intrusion frequency. ► The immobility and not the fear subscale was related with intrusion frequency. ► Pre-film self-report attentional control was not related to intrusion frequency. ► Attentional control modulated the tonic immobility-intrusion frequency relationship; that is, this relation was not present in those with high attentional control.
