Superior voice recognition in a patient with acquired prosopagnosia and object agnosia

▶ An individual with acquired prosopagnosia and object agnosia shows crossmodal compensation for the visual impairment and has become quite skilled at auditory cues to identity for recognition ▶ An individual with acquired prosopagnosia shows a selective superiority for voice recognition compared to the controls ▶ These data demonstrate that two different stimulus domains, persons and objects, may not be equally affected by sensory adaptation effects and suggest that recognition of persons and objects are processed in separate pathways.
